Dr. Easir Papon
Short Bio |
Dr. Papon received his B.S. degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Military Institute of Science and Technology, Bangladesh in 2012; and Ph.D. degree in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics from the University of Alabama in 2019. He joined UA as an instructor with the Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics in 2019. He is currently working in collaboration with Dr. Anwaul Haque's Composite Materials Laboratory on additive manufacturing and composite materials. His research interests include additive manufacturing, composite materials, computational and experimental mechanics, and modeling and simulation of manufacturing processes.

Aurpon is a 2nd year PhD student in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics. Prior joining to AMM team, he completed his Masters and BS in Industrial and Production Engineering from BUET, and KUET, Bangladesh respectively. His PhD research is focused on frontal polymerization of thermoset composites under the supervision of Dr. Anwarul Haque. Dr. Papon is a collaborator in this work and serving as his co-supervisor. |
Sajani WijayagunawardanaShort Bio |
Sajani is a graduate student studying her Masters in Aerospace Engineering. She completed her BS in Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics and a minor in Mechanical Engineering from UA in 2021. She joined AMM research team in September 2020 and currently working on the fracture mechanics and mechanical properties of carbon fiber reinforced high-temperature thermoplastic polymer composites. On completion of her Masters in January 2023, she will join as a Structural Engineering in Collins Aerospace. |
Paul DonahueShort Bio |
Paul is a senior Mechanical Engineering major at UA, graduating in the spring of 2023. Paul joined the AMM research team in the Fall of 2022, and will continue working on the development, design, and testing of fiber reinforced high-temperature thermoplastic/thermoplastic, thermoplastic/thermoset, and thermoset/thermoset composite repairs for rapid repair applications. Paul additionally will conduct numerical modeling of stress analysis of the developed repair strategies. |
